Terms for buying your laptop
These terms apply when you sell us a laptop through “Sell us your laptop”. Purchases in the store are covered by the Terms and conditions.
1. Who buys the laptop
The laptop is bought by TIIN S.R.L., CUI 49544587, Trade Register no. J40/2461/2024, registered office Str. Nerva Traian nr. 27-33, Sc. B, Et. 1, Birou 6, Sector 3, 031044 București, email [de completat], phone +40 756 571 839 (“we”). “You” means the person who sends the request from their SipherTip account.
You can sell as an individual aged 18 or over, or on behalf of a company, with its name and CUI.
2. The request and the tracking code
You send the request from your account. You describe the laptop (brand, model, processor, memory, storage, condition, known issues, accessories) and may add up to 6 photos.
Once sent, you get a code such as VB-00012, on screen and by email. The request is not an offer to buy from us and does not oblige us to buy the laptop: we set the price only after testing it.
You can have at most 3 requests in progress and send at most 5 requests per day.
3. Sending the laptop
- You send the laptop by courier, at your cost, to the address in the confirmation email and on the request page. We do not collect laptops from your home.
- Write the request code on the parcel or on a note inside. If you forget, write or call us so we can match the parcel to the request.
- Pack the laptop so it is not damaged. Until it reaches us, the risk of loss or damage in transit is yours.
- Before you send it, back up your data, sign out of iCloud / Apple ID, Microsoft or Google accounts, turn off Find My and remove passwords (BIOS, system). We cannot buy a laptop locked to an account.
If the parcel does not arrive within 60 days of the request, we cancel it automatically. You can also cancel it from your account until the parcel reaches us.
4. Testing and the offer
When the parcel arrives we confirm it by email and test the laptop: start-up, screen, keyboard, battery, ports, storage and network. We may start the system for the tests, but we do not open or copy your files.
We email you a price offer in lei together with the test report. The offer is valid for 7 days, and we send a reminder on day 5. We may replace it with a revised offer; the 7 days run from the latest offer.
We set the price based on the condition found in testing and on market demand; we are not obliged to make any particular offer.
5. If you accept the offer
You accept the offer on the request page, where you give us the IBAN and the name of the holder of the account we pay into. By accepting you sell us the laptop at the offered price and declare that it is yours (or that you are entitled to sell it), that it is not stolen, pledged or locked, and that it is not subject to any dispute.
We pay the price by bank transfer, usually within 5 business days of acceptance, and confirm the payment by email. The laptop becomes ours when the price is paid.
If we find out that the laptop is not yours or that it is reported stolen, we do not buy it and make it available to the authorities at their request.
6. If you decline the offer or do not answer
You can decline the offer on the request page. If you do not answer within 7 days, the offer expires; we may send you a new offer or treat the expiry as a refusal.
After a refusal we send the laptop back by courier to an address in Romania, with the shipping paid by you on delivery (cash-on-delivery shipping). We return it in the condition we received it and do not wipe its data.
If you do not collect the return parcel and it comes back to us, we contact you and keep it at your disposal for 90 days, during which you can ask for a new shipment at your cost [to be confirmed by counsel: what happens to an unclaimed laptop after this period].
7. Your data
We use the data in the request (name, email, phone, photos and, if you accept, the IBAN) only for this request, as described in the Privacy policy. For requests that end without us buying the laptop, we delete the photos and minimise the data 90 days after they end; for laptops we buy, we keep the data required by accounting law.
We wipe the storage of the laptops we buy completely before any further use.
8. Tax documents
For every laptop we buy we draw up the purchase document required by law, and companies selling to us issue an invoice to us [to be confirmed with the accountant: the purchase document for individuals (purchase slip or handover report), the identification data required from the seller (for example the personal numeric code) and the VAT treatment of the laptops we buy].
9. Applicable law and complaints
These terms are governed by Romanian law. For questions or complaints write to [de completat]; if we cannot reach an agreement, disputes are settled by the competent courts in Romania.
This is a working draft of 20 October 2026. The effective date will be set at launch, after legal review.
